2nd Grade

My name is Amy Hernandez, and I'm a second grade teacher at South Hi Mount Elementary School. This is my 27th year of teaching and my 12th year at South Hi Mount. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and my Master of Arts degree in Education in my hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. My family has lived in Fort Worth for 18 years. I enjoy traveling with my husband and two sons.

 

 

 

 

 

Hi! I’m Ms.Santillan, this will be my 3rd year teaching 2nd grade Dual Language at South Hi Mount. I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in elementary school. I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. I have two dogs and a baby girl on the way! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hello my name is Sarahi Ibarra- Ruiz. This is going to be my 3nd year at South Hi Mount. I graduated from Grand Canyon University. I have a 13-year-old daughter.  I teach bilingual kindergarten; I have taught Pre-K through the Head Start program. Teaching is my passion.  I'm mostly excited about the children.  Making sure that when I teach them, that the children are going to learn, by motivating them and supporting them. The things that I enjoy the most is spending time with my daughter, teaching and reading.  

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Ortiz is a proud and ecstatic first grade teacher at South Hi Mount Elementary. He was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX and is happy to say he has received all of his education from good ole ‘Cowtown.’

He is a Paschal High School alumnus and soon after, began his college education at a little university down the street called Texas Christian University. In 2012, Mr. Ortiz graduated from TCU with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism with a dream of interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. It wasn’t until recently he found his calling was in education and soon received his teaching certification. Now, he is happy to have the opportunity to interact with, teach, and nurture growing superstars at SHM!

Mr. Ortiz loves dancing, listening to music, being as active as possible, and visiting new and exciting places, but most of all he loves spending time with his family and friends.
