Dr. Melissa Bryan
Principal
Melissa Bryan is proud to be a native of Fort Worth and a product of the Fort Worth ISD. She attended South Hi Mount Elementary, Stripling Middle School and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Auburn University. She continued her studies in educational administration at the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with her masters in educational administration. Most recently, she completed a doctorate of education in educational leadership and policy studies at Tarleton State University. Dr. Bryan has been a featured speaker at the district and state level. She also participated in the Urban Schools Leadership Institute at Harvard University.
Dr. Bryan is in her 29th year of service for the Fort Worth ISD. After completing her student teaching in Perth, Australia, she taught at Benbrook Elementary for seven years. Dr. Bryan served for three years as the assistant principal at Sam Rosen Elementary before being appointed principal at Luella Merrett Elementary in 2006. In 2015, she was appointed principal of McLean Middle School. In 2017, she made the decision to go back to where her heart is; serving at the elementary she attended as a child, South Hi Mount.
Dr. Bryan and her husband, Robert, are the parents of two lovable yellow Labrador retrievers named KC & Bo. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, off-roading, and watching sports. She especially loves college football where she is a die-hard Nebraska Cornhusker (for her husband) and Auburn Tiger fan.
Dr. Elizabeth Foreman White
Assistant Principal
My name is Elizabeth Foreman White, and I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful community. I proudly graduated from Virginia Tech and earned both my master's and doctoral degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington.
In 2017, I was honored to receive the FWISD Teaching Chair of Excellence for Elementary Reading, and in 2023, I was recognized with the Assistant Principal Excellence Award for the Arlington Heights Pyramid. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed the roles of assistant principal and bilingual teacher, both of which have fueled my passion for equitable educational access, bilingual education, and fostering joy within our school community for students, families, and staff.
Having spent over a decade in Texas, I proudly consider myself a Texan! In my free time, I love reading, crafting, and taking walks with my dogs. On weekends, you can often find me exploring estate sales across the DFW area with my husband, family, and friends.
I am honored to serve as your assistant principal. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need support.
