My name is Allie Jensen-Wells, and I am the speech-language pathologist here at South Hi Mount Elementary. I am originally from San Antonio (Go Spurs!) and attended the University of Texas at Austin for my undergraduate degree and the University of Texas at Dallas for my graduate degree. I am a huge Texas Longhorn fan and enjoy attending or watching UT sports in my free time (Hook Em’ Horns!). I live in Fort Worth with my husband, Taylor, and I also am the proud mom of two golden retrievers (Lemon and Reagor) and two kitties (Bobby and Penny).

My professional interests in speech therapy include childhood speech and language disorders, social language/pragmatic differences, and autism.

I was born and raised in Fort Worth. I attended Tanglewood Elementary, McLean Middle, and Paschal High School. I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in Elementary Education from TCU. Go Frogs!! I also have a Masters in Library Science from UNT. This is my 18th year in education. I taught in the classroom for 6 years, and this will be my 12th year as a librarian at SHM. I absolutely love my job and helping kids get excited about reading! My husband is the PE teacher at South Hi Mount and our two kids attend school here. We are Colts! I enjoy traveling with my family, reading, and going to TCU football and basketball games.

I am honored to be joining South Hi Mount Elementary as your counselor.  I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Montana in Missoula.  I took the non-traditional path to teaching, with my background in science leading to teaching science to students from fourth grade to high school, even serving as an Agricultural Science teacher and FFA sponsor.  I so enjoyed the process and results from the social and emotional learning classes taught to my students that I decided to pursue counseling.  My Master’s in Education degree was earned through Angelo State University.  Having come from a background in sales, I have found my home in education and 2022 marks my tenth year.

My son lives in Seattle and my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson in Stephenville.  The role of grandma to a soon to be first grader is such a joy.  I love watching him learn and grow.  My hobbies and interests include spending time with my three horses, watching documentaries and sports, knitting, and solving logic puzzles.  I am a die-hard University of Montana Grizzlies fan and have been adopted into Sooner Nation.

I have been a Registered Nurse for almost 30 years, having first earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science and Nursing at Tarrant County Jr College, then later my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

I was born in Ft Worth, Texas, and have lived and worked in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida. I have a broad range of clinical experience, including Neonatal ICU, Home Health, Dialysis, Neuro ICU, Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum. My current position as the School Nurse at South Hi Mount is by far one of the most rewarding nursing experiences I have ever had, and I hope to be around a very long time!

My greatest joys are spending time with my children, family and friends, art, walking and playing with my poodles, traveling to new and distant places, camping and hiking.

Dr. Holmes was born and raised in Queens, New York. At the beginning of her career, she worked in early childhood as a Pre-K teacher. In 2015, she moved to Texas where she began her early teaching career in Fort Worth ISD in which she taught grades 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade for five years. Dr. Holmes was an attendee at the Model School Conference in Kissimmee, Florida which afforded her the opportunity to connect with many educators across the nation. Dr. Holmes obtained her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Wesleyan University in 2020, where she later pursued a career as a Multi-tiered System of Support Specialist and a Literacy Specialist in surrounding neighboring school districts. Dr. Holmes has now returned to Fort Worth ISD to widen her teaching practices and share insightful resources with adult learners to better perfect their craft as educators. This led Dr. Holmes to pursue a career as a Campus Instructional Coach at South Hi Mount elementary.
